Neon gives a thumbs up as he led another squad through the tera tunnels, confirming their location somewhere on the route before being quick to relay their coordinates. He's busy making little notes on a piece of paper, figuring out there they were before pointing in a set direction for them to move out. "Hurry, don't know how long before they grab reinforcements." he urged. "3 meters SW. There's some kind of League post. Intel says they saw lab coats." he instructed as the Rockets began to move out while he watched them go. [break][break]

The team split apart, with a few continuing in the direction he'd pointed and the other seeming to circle around intent on flalnking. Neon takes after the opposite direction, jogging after them before hopping into the air and levitating just a few inches off the grounds to silence his steps. [break][break]

He makes it just before the first attack. As he readies himself, he looked over the camp. It looked like research but he's not entirely sure. The lab coasts weren't exactly...there. But it seemed like people hunkering down and getting at something. Maybe it was comms cracking. "Carefully pull them off radio if you can. I want their frequency info." he said into the team's earpieces as they jumped forward.

Neon aids them, individual feathers glowing bright in the battlefield's gloom and zooming into one of the personnel that seemed to be supervising.

knives come whistling through the air. the sun glints off their sharp edges, even after they embed themselves into nearby rock and dirt.

she gasps through scrambling backwards, a surprised sort of look rising quickly. another weapon whips by and upon further glance, recognition sparks into a small fire.

they're not knives... but feathers.

"shit."

she keeps moving backwards, even as the feathers continue to follow. a few find purchase in her skin, slicing through and coercing red blood to ooze out of the newly opened wounds. she hisses through the pain, through the annoyance, and tries to signal through the comms for back up.

"need some help here - we're getting ambushed!"

nothing more than static answers.

outside of the small group she's supposed to be guarding, she's alone... damn it.

she shifts to release a pokemon, whipping the ball with a flick of her wrist in a hasty throw, and her charizard comes snarling through the last of its pokeball's light.

and in an attempt to grant them some reprieve, some semblance of cover... the charizard unleashes a smokescreen as the rest of the group hurries to finish their tasks.

"Make 'em talk! And if they've got nothing to say cut them down!" he ordered, as the attack entered into full swing, with his group versus the rangers or researchers. Whatever they'd risked putting this far out into no man's land. "You know what I want!" he added. Anything useful they could quickly sift through and communicate back to base. [break][break]

As the squad of grunts moves through to slice, dice, or bludgeon whatever they came into contact with, Neon pushed further. He kicked away someone who charges him, startled but able to dispatch them with a small grunt of effort. The person tumbles but then become someone else's problem as a Machoke comes crashing down on the body. [break][break]

Soon enough though, smoke begins to pour into the impromptu base. "Verde! Take care of this!" he ordered, as his helmet began to whir, fans clocking into overdrive while the rest of the people nearby coughed and choked. Neon's helmet gets to work swapping to night vision and then to thermal when it's too bright to use night vision. The green tint almost blinding for a second before forms gets smaller. He catches sight of the dragon's form and a trainer nearby. [break][break]

Neon unclips his own pokeballs, plain and scuffed up with little seals of its own, lovingly arranged for his partner. Cacio jumps out in a swatch of dark colored smoke. Black, purples and blues swirl and mix with the SMOKESCREEN before the panther like beast charges forward, sneezing against the Charizard's haze. Nevertheless the Luxray goes forward in the direction gestured, red eyes glowing in the dark smoke before getting closer to the little bit of scent he could try to pick up. He picks a point and lets off a DISCHARGE into the smoky abyss.

there's something comforting about the smoke. it clings to cloaking in a heavy haze, allowing a false sense of security to ease nerves. she takes a breath, or several, in an attempt to regain some semblance of control.

but they can't hide forever. the smoke will fade, will dissipate, and she'll be exposed once again.

her charizard sticks close despite the cover. bodies shuffle in and out of the smokescreen and she can't tell who's who anymore. everyone looks like an enemy with one working eye and a throbbing, empty eye socket.

it's why she doesn't see it in time. the discharge comes quickly, hissing through the smoke, and lands on its marks. she yelps, electricity zapping through the body and leaving her squinting through pain. her charizard snarls, taking a daring step forward as electricity begins to fade from its body.

"give 'em hell."

the dragon's mouth opens after a moment, unleashing an inferno of flames in the direction where the discharge came from. the smoke grows thinner still.

In an attmept to keep their opponents from having time to think, Cacio charges forward even still wit ha WILD CHARGE, only to end up battered back by an INFERNO. It's fur singed and it let out a sharp roar of pain. The electricity building up in its body unable to discharge properly, shocks him as well. The electric type is standing, trying to shake off the electrical spasms and rolling on the earth to put out the few flames still catching his coat. [break][break]

Even still, it sets its gaze on the Charizard and moved forward again, flanking it as it shoots off a THUNDERSHOCK at the fire type. Neon moved in towards Giada, steel feathers ripping out of bodies and equipment to cut through trainer and partner. He intends to herd trainer away from her pokemon, sprinting in with his own knife in hand to attack. "Let's talk!" he snarled as he closed in on Giada.
